Hooty Owl Bag

Keely was quite crafty this Christmas, making a whole host of neat things for her friends. One of her cutest projects was this sweet little owl bag.

I'm not really sure what inspired the project, but our dear friend Laura does love owls and purses so it really seemed the perfect idea. And who can help but fall in love with this little guy? With his rick-rack belly and big eyes...

She raided my quilting bag for fabrics to do the applique; soft tan corduroy became the body of the bag and green print from her stash was used for the lining. The pattern is free online, and we found it through Dayna. But be forewarned if you click on the link to Dayna's blog: you will leave inspired to make a bag or two yourself! The ruffled, yellow bag she just finished is super cute.

Keely had so much fun designing her little owl and making up the bag, and Kelsie has plans in the works to try the same pattern soon. So simple, yet cute!
